Zafar and Monika Choudhary, alongside Ranjodh Singh, began collaborating on projects without a formal structure. Driven by a shared passion for spatial planning and art, this organic collaboration eventually formalized into Habitat Architects. The early mission was to shift client perceptions of architects from mere draftsmen ("NakshaNafis") to creators of immersive, three-dimensional stories.

Expanded operations into full-scale architectural and luxury interior projects. The founders developed signature methodologies by working directly with site artisans, stone masons, and carpenters, embedding site-driven craftsmanship and structural precision into the firm’s core DNA.

Formalized an integrated studio offering architecture, interior design, master planning, and landscape. Established the firm’s core philosophy of "Responsible Luxury"—balancing high-end aesthetics with biophilic principles, regional context, and climate-responsive design.

Scaled operations across major commercial hubs, civic projects, and high-end residential developments across India and internationally. Earned widespread national recognition, including features in Architecture+Design and Construction Week India awards.

Integrated next-generation directors Sahir Choudhary and Sarah Choudhary. Rebranded as ZHCollective, the practice advances sustainable master planning, computational workflows, and generative spatial design—recognized in Forbes India’s "The Bold Club" among top architecture visionaries.
